In our current world, wearing pants seems to be the fashion rule #1. But as for me, as long as I can remember, I’ve only worn dresses and skirts.
If you were to know me personally, I could have given you permission to ask any of my closest friends if they’ve ever seen me wearing pants, and the answer will be a resounding “no.”
The truth, simple truth is that I have just a pair of skinny jeans collecting dust in my closet. I have a pair of yoga pants that have never see the light of day. Other than the rare occasion when I’m skiing in snow pants or rock climbing in leggings, I always wear dresses and skirts. I pretty much lead a pant-less existence 😀 :D.
- No jeans?
- No sweatpants?
- No culottes?
No problem. You will be surprised to know that I broke up with pants ten years ago, and I’ve never looked back.
I guess your question will be “Why am I so dress-obsessed?” My love affair with dresses started for these reasons shared below, and after reading, you may be convinced to start wearing a dress more often than usual.
They make me feel like I’m Audrey Hepburn
Dresses are just so feminine and flirty, it automatically makes you look beautiful and respectable. Please, I am not saying Ladies on pants aren’t respectable looking, but since the dress has been ditched, anytime we’re on dress, it tends to showcase our feminine side.
It does not matter whether it’s a billowing sundress or a fitted cocktail dress, whenever I put on a dress, I always feel like a real-life Holly Go lightly when walking around downtown in a girly outfit.
They hide my food baby after I’ve devoured an entire platter of nachos by myself
Hey, don’t judge me on a few lapses, but when you eat a meal that could feed a village, you sure know your tummy will be telling the whole world. The truth is that Pants just aren’t forgiving enough for my strict all-carb diet.
They make me look pretty without even trying
Here’s another insane reason why you should try on dress today. Dress makes you effortlessly pretty.
Dresses are the laziest form of clothing — they’re basically a towel with straps which you can put around your body. But they’re effortlessly chic, so they make you look like you tried really hard, when actually, you just put it on.
In reality, it probably took me less time to throw on one piece of fabric than it took you to put on multiple layers of clothing.
They are good conversation starters
Here’s another wonderful reason for ladies to put on dresses. I noticed that whenever I wear dresses and skirts around town, I get more compliments and smiles from strangers.
When I look and feel my best, I’m naturally going to invite more small talk while standing in line at the grocery store or grabbing a coffee by myself.
They give me confidence
The last reason why I think Dresses would love smashing on any Lady, is that it gives you self confidence. When it comes down to it, I don’t dress up for anyone but myself.
I wear what I like and dress how I want to portray myself to the world, so am not in any pressure to showcase or outdo anyone. Dresses and skirts make me happy — they’re just so me. Besides, life is too short to wear boring clothes, which Is why I opt in for dresses and am never going back.
